Redesigning a Logo & Creating a Strong Brand Identity
First Few Logos
Over a short amount of time, I have created a few logos that I have used for my own branding. Note: Please see 'My Logo Evolution Gallery' below for reference. As I have grown and changed as a graphic designer, I felt that my logo should do the same too.
Picking a Business Name
In addition to a logo change, I've also gone through a few name changes. Past names: Minerva Designs and Starhead Designs. However, it was Trina Eliza Designs that resonated with me the most. After doing a little letter surgery, I took my first name, Katrina, and middle name, Elizabeth, and condensed it down to Trina Eliza. Keep in mind that my name, Katrina Christoffersen, is really long! I'm not going to torture people by having them type out my long name in their browser.
My Final Brand Identity
After many logo and name changes, I have designed a brand identity that works for me. With a finalized logo, I created an identity where consistency is key: same font, colors and shapes throughout. I even took a minimalist approach and got rid of any unnecessary design elements.
Logo Evolution
Keep in mind that there is nothing wrong with redesigning your logo. Many companies' logos have gone through a redesign. Times change, people change, and companies change, so it's important for a logo to reflect where you or your company stands at the current moment.
